The Miami-Florida Jean Monnet Center of Excellence at FIU (MFJMCE) has been proud to be one of the three American and 7 European Partners in the project PICASSO.

FIU-Miami-Florida Jean Monnet Center of Excellence has been contributing to outreach activities in the US, to support the promotion of H2020 ICT opportunities for US side and US ICT programs opportunities for EU side, to support to the projects events, to promote webinars, but also organize workshops and panels with high European and American profile who brought their expertise in ICT. To that end, MFJMCE has used its network, American and European, academic, governmental, diplomatic, community at large in public and private sectors. It has disseminated all the events organized by PICASSO through its social media, newsletters, B2B meetings with potential stakeholders (academics, researchers, but also community at large stakeholders). PICASSO project has been well received by Florida International University and especially the School of Computing and Information Sciences.

We have also to remind that the Miami-Florida Jean Monnet Center of Excellence is not only member of the 8 EU Jean Monnet Network in the US, but also to the global network of EU-sponsored Jean Monnet Centers created in 1998. Strong ties between the centers already exist, and everybody has been keen to contribute to the PICASSO Project. As a result, in the close future, two of our EU Jean Monnet Centers of Excellence in the US, the University of Denver and the University of Houston are looking forward to co-organize different events on ICT in their respective university.
The network of the Floridian universities we are part of (UCF, UF, USF, UNF, FAU), easily allows us to organize different workshops too.

Finally, we would like to emphasize on the fact that every year, in spring, M-FJMCE is also partnering in a very important event in Miami: eMerge Americas. It is an innovative event at which members of the tech community from the Americas (Latin America, North America and Europe) gather for four days. At eMerge Americas, attendees can explore how key technologies and trends – big data, mobility, startup, cyber security, cloud, and social business – drive innovation across the industry sectors, defining the next phase of technology. 15000 people attended the event this year.

Participating in the annual eMerge Americas Symposium in Miami would be a great opportunity for PICASSO to showcase its European expertise and develop new ties and partnership between the United States and Europe. On April 29-30, 2019, it will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
At the same time, there will be a conference on cybersecurity, and protection of data organized by Cyxtera Technologies.

Another opportunity would be to organize a tour presentation of PICASSO to potential stakeholders not only in Florida, North Carolina Triangle, Denver, Houston, but also at the different European Centers of Excellence (Georgia Tech, Atlanta; University of California, Berkeley; University of Denver, Colorado; University of Illinois, University of Pittsburgh; University of Wisconsin, Madison)
